Our services
Abrevity provides a biography writing service that leverages automated processes combined with user input and human oversight to generate personalized biographical content. Our service includes:
- Generation: Creating a draft biography based on the information you provide.
- User Editing: Allowing you to review, modify, and enhance the biography (e.g., by adding pictures or extra details).
Disclaimer: While we aim to produce high-quality, engaging content, the final biography is provided “as is.” You are responsible for reviewing and finalizing the content to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
Property rights
- Content Ownership: Upon final acceptance and download of your biography, ownership of the final written content transfers to you. However, Abrevity retains all rights to the underlying technology, software, and processes.
- User Data: By submitting information to our platform, you grant Abrevity a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your data solely for providing and enhancing our services.
- Intellectual Property: The design, layout, and content of our website (including copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property) are owned by or licensed to Abrevity. Reproduction or distribution of any part of the website without explicit written permission is prohibited.
Prohibited activities
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful or harmful purposes.
- Attempt to modify, reverse-engineer, or decompile the underlying technology.
- Disclose or distribute any confidential or proprietary information obtained through the service without authorization.
- Generate content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on the rights of others.
- Interfere with the proper functioning of our services or any associated systems.
Services management and Limitations of Liability
- Service Availability: While we strive for continuous, 24/7 access, Abrevity does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Scheduled maintenance or unforeseen issues may result in temporary interruptions.
- User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing and editing the generated biography. Abrevity is not liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the final product resulting from user modifications.
- Refund Policy:
- Eligibility: In cases where we are unable to deliver a final biography (the “story”), you may request a refund. Such requests must include an explanation and will be reviewed manually.
- Finalization: Once a biography is completed and available for download, no refunds will be issued, as production costs have been incurred.
- Data Accuracy and Liability: Abrevity does not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the generated content. By using our service, you assume all risks and responsibility for the final output.
- Limitation of Liability: In no event will Abrevity be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost profits or data loss), even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Commercial Use of Content
If you choose to commercialize the biography generated through our service—such as selling or publishing it in book form—you agree to pay Abrevity 10% of the gross revenues derived from such sales. This revenue share applies regardless of any modifications you make to the content. Payment is due within 30 days of receipt of the sales revenue, and Abrevity reserves the right to request appropriate documentation regarding sales figures.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. (Should we establish an entity in another jurisdiction, such as the US, additional terms may be incorporated and these Terms will be updated accordingly.) By using our service, you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in the governing jurisdiction for any disputes arising under these Terms.
Privacy Policy
We are in the process of drafting a comprehensive Privacy Policy that explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy once it is published.
